RANDOLPH CENTER, Vt. (March 10, 2021) – America’s SBDC Day is set for March 17th, 2021, a day that will unite nearly 1,000 Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) across the country and the hundreds of thousands of clients they’ve served in their 41-year history.
Here at home, Vermont’s Small Business Development Center (VtSBDC), along with clients, stakeholders, and partners, will mark the day virtually, posting on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn throughout the day, using the hashtags #SBDCDay and #VtSBDCDay. On March 17, participants are encouraged to like, comment, and share how VtSBDC has created a difference in their lives and communities.
“Now more than ever, it’s important to recognize those who have demonstrated resilience in this most challenging year,” said VT State Director Linda Rossi. “Small businesses are a key component of our state’s economy, and VtSBDC continues to provide local business owners and entrepreneurs with the resources they need to make critical decisions and to move forward. We celebrate small business every day of the year, but SBDC Day on March 17 gives us an opportunity to invite our community partners to join us in recognition.”
VtSBDC is a statewide program of the Vermont State Colleges, hosted by Vermont Technical College with a mission to provide expert advice and individualized resources to Vermont’s small businesses to start-grow-thrive-transition. For the past 28 years, VtSBDC has guided Vermonters to create jobs, secure capital, increase the profitability and sustainability of their businesses and grow the Vermont economy. In the past five years, VtSBDC clients have launched over 200 new businesses, created and retained more than 2,570 jobs, generated over $124 million dollars in new capital and over 8,000 Vermonters have been served through one-on-one advising and educational training programs.
