VtSBDC to host two events during 2020 NEK Entrepreneurship Week

NORTHEAST KINGGDOM, Vermont (Sept. 23, 2020) – Vermont Small Business Development Center (VtSBDC) will virtually host two events during NEK Entrepreneurship Week, October 12 -17, 2020, along with eight other partner organizations. Participants can look forward to a week’s worth of fun and inspiring virtual events hosted by local makerspaces, coworking spaces, and resource providers.

Presented by DoNorth Coworking and NorthCountry Federal Credit Union, NEK Entrepreneurship Week will highlight pathways for entrepreneurs, makers, and creatives to start or grow a business in the Northeast Kingdom. All events are free to attend, and registration is now open.

Among a full schedule of virtual classes and workshops, innovation challenges, and panel discussions, VtSBDC advisors will host:

A Day in the Life of a Young Entrepreneur in Vermont

Wednesday, Oct. 14, noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom

VtSBDC Advisor Sarah Kearns will lead a lively discussion panel with several young business owners starting and growing businesses in the NEK. She will also talk about the various resources available to help in this area. Bring your questions and be ready to hear some good stories.

VtSBDC shares the approach of DoNorth Coworking to engage and inspire the next wave of entrepreneurs in our communities, working with young entrepreneurs and college students to help drive our workforce.

“With new and existing economic challenges, new technologies, and the impact to our state by COVID-19, we look forward to expanding services for young entrepreneurs as well as to the college system as a key resource partner and as an automatic pathway from the campus to the workforce to the community,” said Linda Rossi, State Director of VtSBDC. “These relationships yield positive results for future generations, for our economy, and for the communities of Vermont.”

Since this is an entirely virtual event, participation statewide and beyond is encouraged.
